Does anyone here use electronic ear tags on their cows? The tags contain RFID chips that communicate with antenna you place on the feeding troughs to monitor how much food each cow is eating. The idea is that you'll be able to see when something is off with your cow sooner so that you can address potential health issues as soon as possible. Is it worth investing in a system like this if you only have a handful of cows?
