Fewer Chickens Will be Produced in Georgia Soon

I just saw today that Sanderson Farms is reducing the number of chickens they produce from 1.3 million per week to 1 million per week. They've sent over 400 employees home from their Georgia plant. It appears that they will keep paying these employees, at least.

This is quite a reduction in the number of chickens they are going to produce. Do you all think it will significantly affect our ability to get chicken from the grocery store? We are stocked up on meat here for a little while, but I have friends who tell me that they've had some difficulty finding meat at their stores already.

That is a pretty significant number. You would think that with the food industry being essential they would find a way to keep those employees "socially distanced" from each other and keep the numbers up. We all know the demand isn't going down.
