If you're interested in growing perennial vegetables on your farm, you should read Eric Toensmeier's book, Perennial Vegetables: From Artichoke to Zuiki Taro, a Gardener's Guide to Over 100 Delicious, Easy-to-Grow Edibles. It covers the vegetables that you can plant in your area that will absolutely thrive during the growing season and will come back year after year to feed your family. It goes beyond your basic asparagus plants. I only wish I'd read it sooner.

Thank you for the recommendation! I plan to expand our vegetable garden this coming Spring, so I'll get a copy of this and start reading! I love perennials - it's always nice when you don't have to replant something year after year.
