Ham and bean soup

My wife has ham and bean soup simmering on the stove. It's what is for lunch tomorrow! I am getting so hungry just smelling it. Anyone else a fan of ham and bean soup?

Yum! I remember my grandfather used to make this. He let it cook on the woodstove during the day. It made the whole house smell delicious. I haven't had it since I was a child. Maybe I'll look up the recipe and give it a shot.

Did you ever find your recipe? We just made this again. It was delicious! I have to admit that I almost love the soup the second day even better. It is one of my favorite things to eat when we have leftover ham.
