TRy closing your bottom sieve all the way and turn fan up to 1200 or higher.Close top sieve enough to let beans thru. Rotor speed depends on what time of day but start at500 to 600. Adjust concaves to get beans out of pods.
How about a more information on what your actual problems are and what you have done to try to make things better. Also, crop condition, wet, dry, weeds, green stalks ect.
With the standard sieves you can close the bottom sieve and get along just fine. I set the top sieve open about 1_4 - 1_2 inch, just enough to keep an edge up to move the residue along. AFX rotor at approximately 600 rpm, concave at 3.5 - 4, fan at 1150 rpm, 12r30 JD row crop head at 3.8 - 4.3 mph, harvesting 65-70 bushel irrigated soybeans with green stems. This is a '95 2188 with 1600 hours. Smooth as silk in the field.
If you can run beans with the lower sieve closed, you must have the 1-5_8" sieve, also known as the corn sieve. If you close the 1-1_8" sieve down, commonly used for wheat and other smaller grains, the beans won't fall through and will end up in the return elevator. These two sieves will need to be set completely differently.
I just got out of a 2366 with 20 ft head. It had the standard bottom sieve not the long fingered bottom sieve. It was closed tight running 5.2 to 5.5 mph in good beans and with no loss. It may seem wrong but it works and I have alot of machines running this way. Try it and compare.

Do you have the return monitor in any of themIJ We have replaced the standard lower sieve with an adjustable airfoil from loewen. In beans it is very sensitive to how the lower sieve is adjusted. One notch too far closed and the return monitor pegs at about 2 mph. One notch more open and the beans fall through and the return goes to nearly nothing at over 3 mph. I can't imagine how the standard short finger sieve could work completely closed. How would the beans ever get to the clean grain elevatorIJ Can they fall through it with it closedIJ
