How Many Gallons In A Tote

How many gallons are in a tote? I have a normal size caged tote. It is marked with measurement lines and the top one is 1,000. But what is it 1,000 of? Gallons? Something else?

Not close to a 1000 gallons. Maybe 1000 liters.
