Combines loss from front of shoe

Pull your chaffer out and put a light under the combine around the front of the shoe on each side. You should see where your shoe is leaking. You should also notice grain on the frame underneath where the grain is coming out. On my N6 there were excessive gaps at the clean grain auger trough and the stationary fan shroud where the shoe moves through. I made some seals out of belting and riveted them in place running the machine by hand to make sure my seals were not too tight and push the seals out. Pete Hinrichsen

yes pete has the idea. there was a service bulletin adressing this issue as well. take a look at the new combine seals. the side tip shoe seals are worth installing. long term useage would benefit in a metal deflector as the accelerator rolls are tough on fabric seals.
