We are thinking about planting pickling cucumbers this year. Question is, what happens if you don't pick them when they are small? Do they get really seedy?

We've done cucumbers a few times. Usually just use the ones that are sized like normal dill pickles. Yeah they have plenty of seeds but that's part of a cucumber. No complaints from me except we didn't exactly win any awards. Ours had too much garlic and eventually went in the compost. I'll stick to milk.

We grow both in our garden. I do think that you need to pick them when they are smaller. If you don't, they get really fat (full of seeds). It's the same with regular cucumbers. Pick them too late and they are full of seeds.
