Combines Special K IJ

You had the K grain, edible bean and corn-soybean specials. The main difference was in the cleaning area. The grain [wheat, oats ect.] had shorter fingers on the sieve and chaffers, the corn-soybean had longer fingers. The corn-soybean combines had wire fillers in the straw walkers to keep cobs from getting caught in them and also had risers to kelp lift the fodder above the walkers.

Are you sure about the wire fillers in the straw walkersIJ We had a K corn and soybean special that did not have them. Certainly wish it did have them though that is definitely something you want to have.

I have to agree with tomcat on wire fillers. There were none on any Specials I know of. If you run corn get them......well worth the time spent pulling cobs out! I tend to think most Gleaners are "special" anyway.
