9760 Had trouble with rotor drive belt slipping. After ruining many belts and lots of frustration. Finaly got thru JD hoops and put on heavier spring and belt and solved all problems. Of course we were the only ones that ever had the problem according to Deere.

We heard that a lot too. "we've never had one of those go out" sort of thing. It seemed like we were the ONlY people who were unhappy with the STS. Our belt slipped. It was the same problem with the spring. After 3 or 4 belts in 2 years, we finally got sick of it and traded.

Yes, I've had the same comments: "you're the only one who has ever complained about rotor belt slippage". Strange how when you ask a few other people that they also mention rotor belt slippageIJ Did JD fit just the heavier spring H207813 or did they change both the cams as wellIJ Thanks for your help.

they went back with the same spring. really fixed the problem. like putting a band aid on a gunshot wound.

You set your tension the wrong way you must make the setting wider then 8mm, atleast 10mm. We had the same problem and that solved our problems.
