Useful tools for harsh weather conditions

We all know how weather conditions can make things more difficult on the farm. Which farm tools do you turn to at such moments? I find digging bars to breaking up ice in the winter. A portable generator also offers a backup power supply during winter and summer storms.

My most important winter tool is a four wheel drive tractor with a loader and backblade. I use it to dig out my driveway and paths to all my outbuildings. It allows me to do almost no shoveling by hand. Having a cab on the tractor makes it easier to keep plowing during a snowstorm. Before I had a cabbed tractor I went out in snowstorms to plow bundled up with all sorts of winter gear, plowing in a heated cab makes life much easier.
