I guess I should have clarified myself better. When I said wet straw, I should have said green stemmed soybeans. The spring after we used the impeller we couldn't get the stubble through our field cultivater. I do bale a little small grain straw for livestock. I would agree with your dealer on that aspect, the straw quality will be reduced substantially. But even with the impeller I wasn't too impressed with small grain straw quality for baling. As far as I'm concerned, nothing beats a conventional combine in that area.
