We had the same issue. We didn't put any of the shims back on and still had a good bit of space. We just went ahead and ran it that way. No problems so far. You will love the performance with this kit. No more rotor rumble, and the engine is not as strained as it was before.

Deadduck: thanks for the info. I left out all the washers behind the bearing and moved the horn assembly towards the front in the slotted bolt holes and got the clearance down to about 5_16 of an inch.Will go ahead and finish putting feeder house back on. looking forward to running it in soybeans,they are probably a month away from harvesting,I am in NE South Dakota..
