Parts are not looked at by any company one at a time and then priced according to copetition. They are a fucntion of sales, volume of purchase, and inventory carrying, packaging, and shipping costs. It is a formula. Agco has over a quadzillion part they supply. When you find a part overpriced to the point of not buying it and doing the legwork to find another source, ask someone to ask for the part to be reviewed. Agco has finally got some common sense folks at Batatvia in the past 5 yrs. Oh, and for what it is worth yes Deere has some parts cheaper than Agco - they sell more machinery thus they buy more. BUT for things other than lug bolts and fast moving items you make up the difference. They catagory 'captive and non captive parts' . Captive are the ones you gotta go to them for repair$. Agco makes no such distinction. Finally one can 'nit pick' any parts you want for the above reason, a 300 plastic cover for a MF precleaner a 450 dollar front piece of plastic for a NH TS we traded for, a $1,200 little gear for a Deere etc... Again, ask for a better price and look at the average and how many parts it takes before labeling parts 'too high' for any brand. We send in price inquiries to part.pricing most every day.
