What's the big deal about Android devices?

I appreciate competition, but after working with both Windows and Apple operating systems, why would I want to learn or fight with a new one?

The android system I heard, after the death of Steve Jobs, was an almost direct copy of the Iphone system that Steve Jobs was determind to do away with.

The android system isn't too bad, but it does have its own quirks. However all these new systems are alike in their functionality, so moving from one to the other isn't too bad.
