I have a 1680 and I just went to a salvage yard and got a pair of 2188 spreader disks. You have to grind a groove in the drive shafts to take the special clip, because they don't use a pin.
thanx for the reply, the disks you got off the 2188,are they the type that just extend below the factory straw spreadersIJalso I wonder if that only works on long seive 1680'sthanx
Sorry I din't give you more info. Yes, I have long seive model and the other bit I got from the salvage yard was the pan to put the chaff onto the spreaders.
I used Spreaderman's system, and like it. But had to do a lot of fabricating to make the sheilds and curtains work. It's a copy of what's on a 2388. CIH finaly has a kit, part n 87301085. I have no idea what the price is, but I bought the quik couplers and longer shafts from CIH for $200+. Plus spreaders, belting, and time. It might be a good route to go if everything is included. CW
