Do those aerating shoes...

actually make a difference? I figured they were more of a novelty item rather than a useful tool for aerating the soil. My kids keep asking about them. Would those spiked shoes be enough to aerate a small plot or are they as useless as I suspect?

If you're talking about those shoes that have tiny spikes on the soles that are slightly longer than what you see on baseball shoes with cleats, then yes, I'm afraid they're just a gimmick.

Don't see why not long as for lawn care products just don't tear ground up to much than stay off area.
