No we always leave ours run. I figured they almost had to use couplers like that because of pressure "build-ups".

Yes, I shut mine off as well. It makes things go a lot easier (I assume your talking about the reel or pickup motor drive couplers)These couplers are full-flow, meaning that a 1_2" coupler will flow as much oil as a piece of 1_2" pipe with-out restiction. Most other couplers flow a lot less than thier pipe sizes and thus would be to restrictive unless they were oversized (i.e. 3_4" couplers)

Yep. Have to shut it off to get them connected_disconnected. Frankly, it's a pain!

I always leave mine run. If they didn't srew on then you might have to shut the machine down to reduce the pressure.

Are the couplers serviceableIJ Mine are a little leaky and the dealer suggested the replacement cost, at end 2001, was $175AUD per each. Got to be a better way, as they are wholly unsuitable in the first place. Any suggestionsIJ

I would always shut machine down to hook up or unhook. Once I did not get the fine threaded coupler fully connected and caused damage to the valve block that coordinates reel speed and had to replace it! Make sure they are fully tightened. You may feel resistance and think it is seated but there may be pressure that is causing the mild resistance - Make sure fully seated down.

Do you have a part number on the repair kit for the coupler.
