You may want to check your accumulator. They will go out of charge if there is a leak. Just to be technical, the poor man's term for what your header is doing is called " hunting ". Happy harvesting.

you should not use the accumulator on those machines. your sickle down presssure can be set too light. your sensing rod might be hanging up .the cable hooked to the pot might be sticking. you can install right hand spring to lower sensitivity, this probkem mainly exists at cold oil. turning sensitivity down does not shut it off. you also can put the pin in the pot arm in the outer hole. hopefully this will solve your problem.
