The main circuit breaker in the engine compartment would be the first place I would look. If I recall correctly, it is on the front side of the engine accessible through the grain tank. Check for voltage at the breaker when you are having power outage. Tom Russell

I had a problem like this on an R50 and found the ground cable in consol that was for everything was lose. I took it off cleaned is all up with wire brush and sandpaper and it has been ok.

Many thanks to all for the advice. Couldn't find anything loose in the console. Nothing seems to be getting hot, no indication of any out of range readings on any indicators - it's just as if you turned the key off except that it also kills the lights, horn, everything electrical, which makes the main breaker look like a good candidate but it's been raining here the past few days so we won't KNOW for sure until it dries up enough to see if the new one cures it. I'll try to post results here when that happens.

everyone is on the right track. When this happens check n1. Circuit breaker - simply short across the two posts on the "klixon" breaker leaving the key on and listen for the "clunk" of the main solenoid_switch-71170617 or 71349402. If the doesn't prove to be the problem, check the solenoid under the console to see if it has 12V to one of the big wires then 12v to one little post and the other one a good ground. Ifn nothing (volts) goes through the other big wire and you can't here it clunk when turning the switch on and off - its bad. If no volts to one of the little wires - bad key switch- if no ground to the other little terminal - bad ground. More POWER to ya'
