Combines MH2 MH3 What is the differenceIJ

We have owned a couple of each and as far as I am concerned the 1984 MH3 is the same as the 1982 MH2 with the exception of the fuel injection pump. As you know most MH's are famous for the plume of smoke you can see while the machine was behind the hill. The MH3 went smokeless and two of ours never had quite the power of the MH2's. I see a lot more differences between the early MH2 and the late MH2.

Both of our N6's ('80, '81) smoke like crazy, especially when you throttle up.

The big change on the late M-2s and M-3s as opposed to the original Ms and early M-2s was the cleaning shoe. The later series had a chaffer and seive that are about 7 inches longer giving more capacity especially in corn. I own a 1979 M-2 and am trying to locate a junked combine with the longer shoe as they will bolt right in to the older models.
