Combines NewDeere Some questions for you

All of the problems we had were all fixed by Deere. Many of the problems occurred on all four of our STS's (we didn't just have one problem machine),however once they were fixed they were okay....or maybe I should say RARElY happened again. I don't think the problems will continue as the machines continue to be upgraded in the factory before delivery. As for the problems we had; wiring was a nightmare in 3 out of the four. Mostly with the joystick controls, ie header height, unloading auger were the most common. Problems with final drives in two. Problems with 4WD engage_disengage in two. Problems with the hydraulics which raise the feederhouse in three. Total of five broken_leaking rads. Field lights would not turn on in one, wouldn't shut-off in another. Climate control was all but automatic in two. Concave clearance button malfunction on all four. And finaly we had a total of three problems with the "heavy-duty" reverser. All in all WAY more problems then one would expect from four new combines. like I said before, our dealership did the best they could, and between them and Deere all our breakdowns_malfunctions were fixed. Best of luck with your new STS, I hope everything works out for you. If you have anymore questions, fire away. One last thing though....WHEN they worked, they were awsome.

Just one more question NewDeere. I understand you are looking to flip your present combines for new ones in 2001. Will you continue with new 9750's or will you change to something different because of last years experience with themIJ Do you have confidence in John Deere to address your problems and keep you as a satisfied customerIJ

looks like you've done some reading on some of my previous post's. Well, to answer your question....just call me "Flipper". Even though JD repaired and replaced everything everytime I had a problem, my confidence in these machines is completely shot. With my own farm, and my custom work I simply can't afford to take another chance on having such a high amount of downtime on new machines....especially with what they cost !!. I have been looking at Gleaner R-72's, New Holland TR99's, and my old machines CaseIH 2388's. Even though many people are having great success with the new STS's(as many guys on this board will tell you they love thiers)my mind is made-up. I wouldn't worry....even the Deere guys who frequented my farm kept saying we've never heard or experianced anything like this before !!. So, hopefully you won't either.....best of luck in your upcoming harvest's. Feel free to ask if you have any more IJIJIJIJIJ's.

let us know what you are switching to. We tried to switch to CASE. But after Deere was on our lot we couldn't afford it anymore. I am very curious how you compare to your new color.
