west illini; As I've read and also been told, rotor rumble is heard when poor transport of the crop is happening.(greenstem beans) Excess power consumtion (greenstem beans) can be delt with by increasing rotor speed. Getting away from torque and adding speed or rotor RPM is effective. If the straw would feed into the feeder house right in the first place, these other things wouldn't be an issue so much at all. Tough conditions may not last long, I only ran a day or so at 900, thereafter it got better.

We are actually waiting on our last 60 acres of beans to mature more because there are too many "lima beans" in the tank. Sample still tests 11-12. Today we switched to corn and got into a field that had morningglory escapes. Alot of rumble. ONly an hour left to go of that area. I want to increase the rotor speed to help, but then end up with alot of cob bits in sample. Corn is yielding 250, so don't want to shut the sieves anymore. Thanks for your help

west illini' I hear that. Rotor speed will break cobs. If they are broke once across the diameter thats OK with me, but I realize your case is an undsireable one. Congrats on your 250bu. corn too, stay safe.
