If it's the feather sheets your talking about we have been very happy with the poly ones we ordered when we ordered our poly skid plates.They are going into they're fifth season with no problems.

Cold Rolled Steel. Yes your local sheet metal shop could do it in minutes. I cut mine out with a cheap air nibbler.
