Combines stone door trips too easy

Shim the door opening pressure by removing the 3_16 X 1.5" roll pin and remove the spring from the stud that the spring goes around. Now add a machinery bushing washer or two under the spring and reinstall. latch the door and remove the shim you added to get to the point the door can be moved up and down or 'bounce'. Measure the bounce distance and add only the shims necessary to just get to 0 up and down movement. These go under the latch dog on the front door.

TBran, can't thank you enough for your help, you are a wealth of galvanized knowledge! I need to fix it right before I forget the screwdriver is wedged in it and tear something up, that could be pricey. Again, thank you.

the book says the latch is most effecient when the roll pin is half exposed in the closed position...shim accordingly
