Combines Will it WorkIJIJ

If I remember right you said you had excellent luck with nearly no loss last year. Did you run the Sunny 2 with any reverse barsIJ The change for this year is the steep pitch helicals (with a couple extra) and aftermarket chopper rightIJ Maybe rock door hump. If you keep in mind how little concave the old P1's had and they worked quite well (and you still have much more concave in line with feeder). If you keep in mind that P1's had better chance to seperate the high yeilding wet corn with the 1 X 1 1_4 cage doors (which you allready have). If you keep in mind that even if crop follows steep pitch helicals perfectly it won't get out of machine any faster than short rotors of the R40-50-42-52. If you keep in mind you can still fasten a rasp on cage material seperator grate you have and adjust it closer to cylinder bars if you want. If you keep in mind you can remove a couple or few cylinder bars to replace with half height or whatever. If you keep in mind that you still have option installing reverse bars on rotor (Did I say thatIJ) In my opinion it will work with little or no adjusting or changing. It sure makes me nervous with my name at the begining of your post. Best of luck

Forgot to mention upon many other things what I thought of rock door hump. I like it for all the reasons that others have suggested hear. I usually do snug springs for door a bit to account for extra weight and material is allways somewhat pressing on door during operation. The pressing on door is where the improvement in feeding comes from for the material is being sucked away from feed chain by cylinder bars. I have found the single most important trick to keep door from opening prematurely is the third helical extention (helical wedge) and or the steep pitch helical package. Of course where the hump is improving feed it will reduce premature opening also. Combines with P1 N5-6-7-R5-6-7-early R60-70 allready have door with hump built in.

You have nothing to be nervous about, Dan. No, I did not have any reverse bars in the Sunny last year and had near zero losses, corn and beans. However, in corn last year we couldn't get any test with high bu per hour with down corn and an 8 row 22 inch head. Will have 12_22 Hugger this fall and very likely will have standing corn. I do also have three front concave openings closed up, so thresh gets completed very early in process, with relatively slow rasp bar speed. Should be a fun havest - just have to grow a good one first. Too much wet for good deep root development now, and keeping spraying from getting done. Thanks to all for input.

Do you know if the R65_75 series already has a "hump kit" as standard equipment or is this an add onIJ Switching from green to galvanized.

No, I believe not. Should have helical filler over corner of feeder opening (some call helical wedge kit) for '04 along with some other goodies. Otherwise the R65 or 75 should have most of the goodies if dealer ordered them. Hyper mods and beyond that aren't allready in production are a hot topic of conversation at Gleaner right now thank to many of you guys. Been hard to convience them guys that they can improve an allready great machine.
