pdh, Do not turn the blades end for end. Just move them from one side to the other. I beleive there are two sets of holes on the blades and the holes are offset on the shaft. Try using the other hole on the blade and I'll bet they will line up correctly. Also the hole you want to use on the shaft may be plugged with dirt. It seems to me that the first time I either swapped blades or installed new ones I ran into the same thing until I notice that the hole on the shaft was plugged with dirt.
