    Coyotes are still howling

    It is such an eerie sound, listening to the coyotes call each other across the hills. What do you do on your farm to protect your animals from coyotes? We have not had any animals come up missing this year.

    Age for gun

    Great question and my answer would be, when your kids are ready. Each child is different. Also whenever you have the time to teach them all about the gun, safety, etc.. I would start with a bb gun.

    How long has farm been in family?

    We have a couple of nephews that are a bit older than our children. They are very active in our farm. I'm sure it will stay in the family somehow. I love reading about other families too. Here's to many years of family farming.

    Frostbite

    Interesting Rich. Our chickens have never gotten frostbite. I do have to chuckle at the sight of you trying to put Vaseline on them. I bet that's a fun process. We haven't had any animals have this issue.

    How long has farm been in family?

    My husband grew up on our farm, as did his father. We are only a 3-generation farm family. I say only because I've met people who have had 6 or 7 generations. How many is yours? Do you think your kids or other family members will keep at it?

    Tiny house living

    We actually bought one of these scaled-down little houses (empty) and turned it into a playhouse. The kiddos love it! There isn't anyway I could live in one. I love my big and farmhouse.

    Fox and Sheep (game)

    We have littles (kids) here and they love to play games. I found this little farmers game called Fox and Sheep. Has anyone seen it? I've been playing around with it for a few days, before I let the kids.
